Comments Off on Foundation Distributes Books at Family Day in the Park
The Library and Literacy Foundation for San Joaquin County participated in the 18th annual Family Day in the Park held at University Park in Stockton. The Foundation gave away over 800 books at its booth, which also featured a coloring station with free bookmarks for kids. Hundreds of families attended the event, which is hosted by The Record newspaper and features a book fair, storytelling by authors and interactive activities for kids.
Many of the families who visited the Foundation’s booth were excited about the free books for their kids and appreciated the various titles to select from, such as the popular Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Books in Spanish were also available at the booth.
“Family Day in the Park is a fantastic opportunity for families to come together and share in their love of reading,” said Ahmed Salim, President of the Library and Literacy Foundation. “The Foundation is proud to be a part of this great event and promote library awareness in the community.”
